One of the most frequent questions I get asked is where our dining table and chairs are from. And nobody ever likes the answer... Swipe to see the before pic of this table in our old house. It was donated from my father in law and is a really solid oak table but didn’t quite go with the rest of our furniture. We went looking for new tables with hairpin legs and suddenly realise

d we could transform our existing table easily.

We bought the table legs for about £40 and then with the wood from under the table we were able to make a bench that fits perfectly.

I then happened to stumble on these chairs that matched so well in @homesense_ukie that were £80 each. We then stained the table and bench with danish oil to match the chairs/worktop once we’d moved in.

We’re definitely starting to think about this area and better ways to use the space. We could do with a bigger table now so are considering making a similar one and turning it the other way, with a built in storage bench along the far wall. I’m keeping a close eye on @corbycraigresidence reno progress as we have similar ideas for the dining bench and I can’t wait to see how it turns out. The chair in the corner hardly gets used so I’d love to create a more chilled area in here where we can sit and eat but also a bit of a social lounging space that’s comfortable and functional.
